Changes to ECE Courses and Curriculum 30 Oct
2006
The department continues to modify and modernize in order to
improve the curriculum. These latest changes go into effect for the
Fall 2007 semester. Courses have been deleted, others have been
added. Some special topics courses have become permanent. As a result
of these changes, some prerequisites have also changed. Most students
will be affected by these changes, so please review them carefully. NO
STUDENT WILL HAVE TO TAKE EXTRA CLASSES in order to graduate. Some new
courses will replace old ones being deleted. Degree audits will
reflect these substitutions. If you have any questions, please contact
the undergraduate advisor, Mr. Scalzo.
- EE 3120, Linear Systems, will be deleted. The final time it
will be taught is Spring 2007 or possibly Summer 2007 (depending on
enrollment).
- EE 3610 Signals and Systems will be added. This course will be REQUIRED
for electrical engineering students, and will be a technical elective for
computer engineering students. It is in effect replacing EE 3120.
- EE 4150 Digital Signal Processing will be deleted. This course is usually
taught in fall semesters and will not be taught again.
- EE 3160 Introduction to Digital Signal Processing will be added. This
course replaces EE 4150. It will be a technical elective for both
electrical and computer engineering. This course is not required. The
prerequisite for this course will be EE 3610 Signals and Systems.
- EE 4160 Algorithms and Implementations for Digital Signal Processing will
be added. This is a new design course in the DSP area for electrical
engineering students. This course has been taught as a special topics
design elective (EE 4002) for the last three years in the Spring
semester. The prerequisite for this course will be EE 3160 Intro to DSP.
