Prereq: EE 4710 or equivalent.

TCP/IP layering, Internet address types, SLIP and PPP, Internet protocol, TCP, UDP, ICMP and IGMP, Recent trends in IP switching; Internet Routing Protocols - ARP, RARP, bridge routing, IP routing, IGP and EGP, multicasting - distance vector multicast routing protocol, multicast OSPF, core based trees, broadcast- ing; Internet Security - MD, secret key, public key, PGP, Firewall. Details about a typical application - www; http, cgi, perl programming. [Not all of the above topics listed above may be covered and some topics not listed above may be included.]
