Parallel algorithms and models, optical interconnects, dynamic reconfiguration, bus-based architectures
Ramachandran Vaidyanathan received the B-Tech. (Hons.) and M-Tech. degrees from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur, India in 1983 and 1985, and a Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering from Syracuse University, Syracuse in 1990. During 1985-87 he held a graduate fellowship at Syracuse University, and the Northeast Parallel Architectures Center fellowship/assistantship during 1987-88. Since 1990, he has been a faculty member at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Louisiana State University, where he is currently an associate professor.
Dr. Vaidyanathan's areas of interest include parallel algorithms and models, optical interconnects, and dynamic reconfiguration, in which he has published extensively. He has served as a reviewer for numerous international journals, and as a program committee member of several workshops and conferences. He is a senior member of the IEEE.
